Uber was sued by 550 women who said they were sexually harassed by drivers.
The US case includes allegations of kidnapping, sexual assault and rape.
It comes just weeks after Uber announced it received 3,824 reports of sexual assault in 2019 and 2020, when data was last available.
That's down from nearly 6,000 in 2017 and 2018, according to published safety reports.
Law firm Slater Slater Schulman has filed a civil lawsuit against Uber on behalf of some 550 customers who claim they were sexually harassed by drivers.
This includes allegations of stalking, harassment, false detention, and rape and sexual assault between 2014 and 2022.
A woman alleges she was sexually assaulted and attempted by a driver as a passenger in her car in Chino Hills, California, this February, the filing said.
Another woman claims she was groped and raped in California last November.
Uber was contacted by The Independent for comment.
